As one who studied physics, worked in scientific instrumentation (mostly measurement and metrology) you have uncovered one of my pet peeves. Data mis-used to service a premise.
"... misinformation benefits no one, and accurate and honest reporting should be far more important than an attention-grabbing headline." Wise words for all journalists, media owners, and readers. Thank you.
A bumper sticker on a car at our Senior Center is not quite relevant but it came to mind. "Don't believe everything you think."
Thanks once again for in-depth fact-based reporting. When the mainstream media wonders why it’s lost the trust of much of the public, it need look no further than lazy, naive reporting like the stories you point to in the Guardian and Rolling Stone. As a retired reporter/editor, it makes me very sad.
"I resent any insinuation that my cars are so expensive it would take a warehouse full of bored apes pounding on Olivetti typewriters three years to produce the complete emails of Sam Bankman-Fried. Let me be clear: I didn't go to bullfights all my life just to watch men in tight pants dance around tipping their sissy-boy hats. If you want to buy a Honda Civic, that's your business. But don't come crying to me when the engine explodes after reaching a speed of 217 miles per hour."
This is probably going to be taken as good news by the NFT community. Something along the lines of "don't buy until there is blood in the streets." My comment: as long as it's not my blood -- have a good day.
News flash: 95% of NFTs have ALWAYS been worthless
I have right-clicked and saved the purple dog sketch. It's the perfect crime.

Well done Molly! Great post.

How much for the purple dog? 🖍️🐩
I have 0.0001 ETH (I think that’s $10 but I’m not sure. I’m as bad at math as dappGambl).
Another great piece. This is why we have to have independent reporting.

Lies, damned lies and statistics
Are there any good numbers on how much the NFTs that were worth something actually lost? Because the crash does seem to have been fairly spectacular.
